It...I hadn't heard of that orthotics study. It's funny to me that the prescriptive treatment for weak feet is to wrap them in ever more supportive shoes, which in turn enable the feet to get even more weak, in a sort of downward spiral of foot wellness.<br /><br />It will be interesting going forward to see what additional research emerges for and against barefoot running. It feels like we already have a good grip on many of the pros, but the cons tend to be mostly concerns about puncturing your feet and/or starting too fast and bringing on overuse injuries.<br /><br />Anyway, guess we'll all be keeping an eye on how it progresses!<br /><br />Finally, though this list is in no way comprehensive, I started tracking links to online abstracts (or full papers) related to shod or barefoot research.
